The Maryland–Bosnia and Herzegovina Exchange Council (MBHEC) attended the official reception marking the Statehood Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, held at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States on November 19, 2025.

The reception featured remarks by Mr. Željko Komšić, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who highlighted the historical significance of Statehood Day and reaffirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s commitment to democratic values, sovereignty, and international cooperation.

The event was further strengthened by the presence of Michael Lore, Deputy Secretary of State of Maryland, as well as representatives of the Maryland National Guard, underscoring the ongoing cooperation and friendship between the State of Maryland and Bosnia and Herzegovina.The reception brought together diplomats, U.S. officials, community leaders, and representatives of the Bosnian diaspora to honor one of the most important dates in the country’s modern history.

MBHEC leadership expressed appreciation to the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States for organizing a dignified and meaningful celebration and reaffirmed the Council’s dedication to supporting initiatives that promote Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cultural, academic, and diplomatic presence in the United States.
