Purpose of the Event

flat map mbhec hero section

Bosnia and Herzegovina Days in Maryland brings together relevant leaders and institutions from both sides around shared priorities and long-term interests — creating space for practical collaboration across education, healthcare, business, and civil society.

Rather than serving as a standalone convening, the event is meant to catalyze relationships, conversations, and joint initiatives that continue developing after the program concludes. It simultaneously increases the international visibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina and deepens Maryland’s role as a strategic partner.

02

Four Key Pillars

01

Institutional Connections

This pillar focuses on strengthening high-level institutional ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina, the State of Maryland, and relevant U.S. partners. Its objective is to create durable channels for cooperation through official meetings, public-sector dialogue, and relationship-building.

02

Academic Exchanges and Knowledge Partnerships

This pillar is centered on connecting universities, scholars, and education leaders to support student exchange, research collaboration, institutional cooperation, and longer-term academic partnerships. Its objective is to build a stronger education bridge between Maryland and Bosnia and Herzegovina that can continue through formal agreements, shared programming, and reciprocal visits.

03

Medical and Healthcare Partnerships

This pillar aims to connect hospitals, university clinical centers, medical faculties, and healthcare leaders to explore professional exchange, applied cooperation, and institutional partnerships in health and medical education. Its objective is to translate shared interest into practical collaboration that can strengthen systems, expertise, and professional ties.

04

Business Connections and Economic Cooperation

This pillar is designed to create practical opportunities for business networking, sector engagement, investment dialogue, and commercial matchmaking between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Maryland. Its objective is to help companies, chambers, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem partners move from introductions to concrete partnerships, trade relationships, and long-term economic cooperation.
