On September 26, 2024, the Maryland Bosnia and Herzegovina Exchange Council (MBHEC) delegation had the honor of meeting with Mr. Elvir Klempic, Director for Partnerships and Global Engagement and White House Liaison to the Muslim Community at the National Security Council. The meeting took place at the White House’s Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
The MBHEC delegation, including co-founders Dr. Azra Nurkic Kacapor, MSc. Adnan Hadrovic, Dr. Emir Nurkic Kacapor, and intern Luca Vujovic, was warmly received by Mr. Klempic. During the meeting, the delegation presented the Council’s mission and highlighted key initiatives. They also briefed Mr. Klempic on the successes achieved through civil-to-civil cooperation between Maryland and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the MBHEC’s future plans for expanding partnerships across all sectors in both countries. The discussion placed particular emphasis on the involvement of young Bosnian American professionals within Maryland’s State Partnership framework.
This meeting marked a significant milestone in efforts to increase the participation of the Bosnian American diaspora in strengthening ties between the United States and Bosnia and Herzegovina, creating new opportunities for partnership and collaboration.
