On February 27th, 2024, Deputy Secretary of State for Maryland, Mr. Michael Lore, along with esteemed colleagues, including Mrs. Mary Nitsch, Director of the International Affairs Division, and Ms. Rosana Mantova, Assistant Director of International Affairs, engaged in constructive virtual dialogue with the co-founders of the Maryland Bosnia and Herzegovina Exchange Council (MBHEC) – Dr. Azra Nurkic Kacapor, Mr. Adnan Hadrovic, and Dr. Emir Nurkic Kacapor. The meeting focused on the recent engagement trip of the MBHEC team to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where substantial support and collaboration were garnered from state-level authorities, marking a significant milestone in the council’s initiatives.
During their presentation, the MBHEC team provided a thorough overview of their progress, highlighting significant advancements achieved in various strategic program areas. These included collaborative efforts in energy and environmental initiatives, economic and trade partnerships, educational and cultural exchanges, technology and innovation collaborations, as well as civil defense and security cooperation. Moreover, the MBHEC team articulated their short- and long-term objectives, expressing confidence in garnering continued support from both partnership states. Deputy Secretary Lore lauded the council for its diligent efforts and expressed a strong commitment to fostering even closer collaboration to strengthen the bonds between Maryland and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
