On March 15th, 2024, Mr. Daniel Gottfried, Legislative and Policy Analyst for Senator Cardin on the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, warmly welcomed a delegation from the Maryland Bosnia Herzegovina Exchange Council (MBHEC). The delegation was led by Dr. Emir N. Kacapor, COO of the Institute for Development Impact (I4DI) and Co-Founder of MBHEC, accompanied by MSc Adnan Hadrovic, Senior Global Security, International Affairs, & Diplomacy Advisor at I4DI and Co-Founder of MBHEC, and Mr. Mak Edvin Nurkic, MBHEC Program Officer for International Affairs and National Engagement.

The meeting, held at the United States Senate, centered on MBHEC’s recent trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina, where our team secured crucial support and commitments to collaboration from various state-level authorities. This trip marked a major achievement in the Council’s endeavors to support the civil to civil and military to civil components of the State Partnership Program between Maryland and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The MBHEC delegation expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the senior United States Senator from Maryland, Mr. Benjamin Cardin, for his unwavering commitment to fostering democratization processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to promoting peace and prosperity across the Western Balkans.

Looking ahead, MBHEC eagerly anticipates engaging with Senator Cardin’s office to organize an event of gratitude, on behalf of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian diaspora in the United States, to honor Senator Cardin’s service and his myriad contributions to the prosperity of both countries
