Sarajevo, February 12, 2025 – In an effort to strengthen the security, Major General Janeen L. Birckhead, commander of the Maryland National Guard, visited Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) this week. During her visit, she met with representatives from the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Armed Forces of BiH. Since 2003, the Maryland National Guard has maintained a strong partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina, fostering civil and military cooperation while promoting regional stability and collaboration.
The Maryland Bosnia and Herzegovina Exchange Council expressed its gratitude to Major General Janeen L. Birckhead and the Maryland National Guard for their unwavering support of Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Your continued support and dedication to strengthening cooperation and promoting regional stability are deeply appreciated by Bosnian Americans in Maryland and across the United States. This partnership and Maryland’s efforts contribute to making America stronger, safer, and more prosperous,” the Council stated.
