On September 30, 2024, Adnan Hadrovic, co-founder of the Maryland Bosnia and Herzegovina Exchange Council (MBHEC), had the honor of attending a special event at the White House celebrating Team USA’s accomplishments in the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games. Hosted by President Biden, the ceremony recognized the remarkable achievements, dedication, and perseverance of the athletes who represented the United States on the world stage
In his remarks, President Biden praised the athletes for their resilience and commitment, noting how they not only excelled in their sports but also exemplified teamwork, unity, and diversity—values that define America. “These athletes remind us of what it means to never give up, to strive for excellence, and to come together as one nation, showcasing the very best of America to the world,” the President said.
MBHEC expressed its deep honor in being part of this momentous occasion, which underscored the spirit of athleticism and national pride.
The participation of 23 Marylanders in the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics in Paris underscores the state’s dedication to excellence, community, and international cooperation. This aligns closely with MBHEC’s mission under the State Partnership Program to foster mutual understanding and collaboration across borders. The Olympic spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and cross-cultural exchange reflects MBHEC’s commitment to building lasting relationships between Maryland and Bosnia, strengthening bonds through shared experiences and diverse talents.
