WASHINGTON, May 21, 2025 — The Maryland Bosnia and Herzegovina Exchange Council (MBHEC) welcomes the U.S. State Department’s approval of a proposed $100 million Foreign Military Sale of AW-119Kx helicopters to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This historic sale includes advanced aviation equipment, pilot and maintainer training, technical and logistical support, and contractor services. It marks a significant step in enhancing the operational capacity of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH), enabling them to better respond to national security challenges, regional cooperation exercises, and humanitarian missions such as disaster relief and search and rescue operations.
The principal contractor, Leonardo Helicopters U.S. (AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corporation), will lead implementation efforts, supported by U.S. government and contractor representatives based in Bosnia and Herzegovina over the coming years.
“This development reflects the continued strengthening of U.S.-Bosnia and Herzegovina relations and affirms Bosnia and Herzegovina’s role as a contributor to regional stability and progress,” said Adnan Hadrovic from MBHEC.
MBHEC remains committed to advancing strategic partnerships that promote peace, security, and mutual development between Maryland and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
